Ryan Dakin is a free-range egg producer and NFU Poultry Board member who combines hands-on farming experience with a passion for supporting the future of the poultry sector.
Raised on his family’s third-generation farm in Cheshire, Ryan studied Agriculture & Business Management before leading the transition from dairy farming into free-range egg production. He established a 32,000-bird multi-tier system and has since developed extensive experience managing successive flocks.
A graduate of the NFU Poultry Industry Programme, Ryan is a strong advocate for new entrants and grassroots producers. Through his role on the NFU Poultry Board, he helps ensure producers’ voices are represented in discussions shaping the future of the industry.
Passionate about high welfare standards, food safety, and traceability, Ryan enjoys sharing experiences and learning from others across the egg sector as it continues to evolve.
