Aled Griffiths OBE was presented with a lifetime achievement award at the 55th Egg & Poultry Industry Conference in 2022 on behalf of the poultry industry he served for over 50 years.

A hero or legend is someone who’s spends their whole life focusing on a greater cause than their own.
Epitomises this remarkable and unique person – he’s developed and coached, encouraged and supported so many individuals.
He’s built and been at the very centre of the egg industry for over 8 decades having reared his own chicks at 10 years old.
He’s known globally by anyone who’s anyone in the egg sector – loved by all especially his family which are at the centre of his daily thoughts.
Still driving the business forward as we speak – he loves and is driven by innovation and innovative thinking – a creative, focused pioneer
Won his scholarship to attend the university college of Wales from the ministry of agriculture in the 50s
Married a Llangollen lass – Olwen and sold their first churn of milk with their names on it which he’s so proud of.
Nuffield selector and ambassador having had the opportunity to grow from it he’s gone on to grow many more people!
He’s been down to Buckingham Palace and awarded one of the highest accolades. An OBE for services to the poultry industry
Loves his staff, children and grandchildren and has seen them grow through the generations – he’s built with his family a devoted and loyal passionate team at Oaklands as well as an amazing future orientated business at the forefront of ingenuity
He’s the head of the mountain – a place to where we all look up to!
