Henrietta graduated from The Royal Veterinary College. She joined the poultry industry in 2012, completing an internship with the Slate Hall Veterinary Practice. There, she also undertook a postgraduate diploma in veterinary epidemiology and veterinary public health and was awarded a scholarship from BPC for work on contact dermatitis.
She later moved to the University of Surrey, School of Veterinary Medicine, to design, integrate and deliver their poultry curriculum within the veterinary degree, and also gained a graduate certificate in learning and teaching. This was a rewarding role, and she is proud to see former students now working with poultry.
Since then, she launched the UK’s first solely pet poultry practice and currently holds a variety of roles including; vet, St Davids Poultry Team; visiting lecturer, University of Surrey; lecturer, University of Liverpool Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Poultry); assistant editor (poultry), Veterinary Record journal; committee member and British Veterinary Association (BVA) rep, British Veterinary Poultry Association (BVPA).
Her particular interests lie in Avian Influenza public messaging, delivering a series of public education YouTube videos for APHA and DEARA, and veterinary education. She has delivered poultry talks at numerous national veterinary conferences and writes and reviews for the peer-reviewed platform Vetlexicon.
