Tom is a 4th generation poultry and cereal farmer from Hertfordshire. His family have been in poultry meat production since the early 1960’s and have been fortunate to have been involved in the development of the broiler industry. From manually filling suspended feed hoppers which were on a conveyor system and circulated the sheds and washing the old bell drinkers that had been washed in Hydrochloric Acid, to building modern clear span poultry units with all the technical wizardry you can imagine, including nipple drinkers and fan feeders!
Tom has been involved with the NFU Poultry board in East Anglia for over 20 years and with the National Board since 2008. In March 2018 Tom was elected Chairman of the NFU Poultry Board and aims to enlighten farmers to how their product touches the lives beyond the farm gate.
