Patrick grew up on the family farm at Cote in West Oxfordshire and learnt to pack eggs and grade chicks at an early age. After graduating from University and spending 6 months working on farms in Australia, Patrick joined the Family Business, PD Hook (Hatcheries) Ltd, where he spent several years gaining experience on farm and in the hatchery before becoming an Area Manager, then Hatchery Manager.

His current role as Production and Sales Director of PD Hook (Group), involves overseeing the production and planning of rearing, breeding and hatcheries and managing the external customers for the business.

In 2015 he was awarded a Nuffield Farming Scholarship which took him to New Zealand, USA, Hungary, Holland and Australia looking at the Challenges and Opportunities to the Poultry Industry in 2050.

Patrick was instrumental in P.D. Hook offering its apprenticeship and placement programme. In addition he has constantly highlighted and lobbied the importance of labour and migration to the poultry industry to ministers and the media, since Brexit in 2016.

Patrick sits on the organising committees for EPIC, SWCA, The Northern Broiler Conference and Poultry Meat Conference and is part of the BPC Breeders and Hatcheries Committee and NFU Poultry Board.

Outside of work Patrick is a keen game and clay shooter. He sits on the RABI Oxfordshire Committee, Chairman of The Central Region Nuffield Committee and is Vice President of South East Area Young Farmers

Patrick lives in West Oxfordshire with his Wife Grace and their four children, Joey, Evie, Robert and Dominic.
